Scarlett by Cathy Cassidy

“Scarlett” is a great book for girls 9-13 who like mysteries, real life, trouble making, romance and annoying step sisters. I really enjoyed this book. It is all about a girl called Scarlett; her mum is fed up with all her trouble so she sends her away to live with her dad and his girlfriend and her daughter. She meets a boy named Kian and his horse Midnight who
Always disappears every time she goes to the wishing tree with someone. Who is Kian? My favourite character has to be Scarlett because I like her attitude and style. I would definitely recommended it to all my friends and will read more of her books.

Chocobiscuit

They both have over 15 in there mouth when Lisa comes over to thank Andy for his present he gave her and Andy needs to sneeze then he sneezes all over her and she puts a marshmallow in her mouth and says ONE CHUBBY BUBBIE!( she wants to challenge Andy now)

Scottish Jokes edited by Chris Findlater

This book is the funniest joke book I have ever read it is full of witty and clever jokes for example: Dr Watson of Edinburgh was famous for his bedside manner and his ability to reassure patients. Calling on one of his patients one day he said “I have bad news and very very bad news. Which would you like to hear first?” The patient gulped and said “ER,
The bad news, Doc”. “You only have one day to live,” said Doctor Watson. “If that’s the bad news what’s the very bad news then?”Gasped the patient. “I should have told you yesterday”
That is just 1 of the many funny and clever jokes in this book.

This book is about a retired Commodore who receives a call to help a Chinese crew sail a tugboat. He finds out that the tugboat is unbalanced and he has to stay on his toes!

Violent volcanoes is a factual book and also has jokes and cartoon characters that makes it funny. I found it interesting because it tells you all about volcanoes that have erupt all over the world in the past. I learnt all about volcanoes erupting and the power of a volcano, such as the Mt Pelee volcano erupting on May 5th 1902. It was normal until lava started coming out of the volcano and then rocks flying out of it. When the lava came on the ground, then the destruction began. It destroyed everything in the little town. Overall it was exciting and I would recommend it to other people because it is interesting and funny.

This book is exciting and is defiantly a page turner! Once you have read the first couple of chapters you just have to read on, I even read the last chapter, because I wanted to know so badly what had happened to Sophie, and I was shocked when I found out the unexpected twist at the end. I would recommend this book to people from S1 and onwards.

Roxy's Baby by Catherine MacPhail

‘Roxy’s Baby’ is about a fourteen year old girl who is having family problems, but even worse she is also pregnant. Because of this she decides that the only way to solve her problems is to run away to London hoping that her family will never find her.
When she arrives in London, she realises that it isn’t so great as she thought it would be and is stuck between staying in London with complete strangers or going back home with family and friends.
This book is great because once you read the first chapter you have to read more. The author has made the characters realistic and all brilliant and exciting in there own way. When I finished the book, I just had go to the library and pick up another one of her books. Reading this book made me realise that my family will al be there for me and that I shouldn’t take them for granted.

As soon as Leo sees her he falls in love. But what does he prefer her or being popular? As soon as I picked the book up I didn’t want to put it back down again. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and read more books by the author.

The Grim Grotto by Lemony Snicket

This is the eleventh book in the 'Series of Unfortunate Events' series and it was one of the best. The Baudelaire orphans have ended up on a submarine with a mysterious captain who later disappears. It is very gripping and all you want to do is read. It is an adventure book with a lot of sadness within it. The baby ,Sunny, isn’t the most realistic character since she does a lot of things babies can’t do. The story is weird but that is what makes it a good book. My favourite character is Violet because she loves to invent things which I quite like doing too. I am definitely going to read until the last book in the series, and I would recommend these books to anyone who likes a mystery.
