This book was written by Jan de Hartog. It is a bout a Commodore who is sent on a tug to help an inexperienced Chinese crew on a voyage to Rio de Janero. The problem is that the tug has a serious design flaw and also, he is retired and is getting old.
He ends up going all the way to Taiwan to protect the inexperienced crew. And also, the captain deliberately tries to capsize the tug. Has a good ending . . .

I thought this book was quite interesting but I thought it was a bit sad that the Captain died.
