UK Parilament Elections - 6th May

The General Election is the big news of the week. Confused by the terminology? No idea what's going on? Have a look at 'A Young Citizen's Guide to Parliament' in the HEALTH section. Or have a look at 320 in the non-fiction for more on Politics.

Who do you want as the next Prime Minister? Show your choice by picking up a bookmark from the library featuring one of the three contenders - David Cameron (The Conservative Party website), Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrats website) or Gordon Brown (The Labour Party Website).

NB: Remember that Scotland has it's own Government (responsible for things like Education and Health in Scotland) run by the SNP - although they couldn't be the UK ruling party they still hope to get more of their MP candidates elected so they can change British Politics. See what they stand for at the official SNP website.

Not old enough to vote? You can still get involved and help change the world by getting involved with the British Youth Council (BYC) or the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) or why not get involved at a more local level by getting involved with the West Lothian Youth Congress or join the school's pupil council!
