The protagonist of the story is Ralph, who quickly becomes chief of the group of boys. He and his friend Piggy try to keep order on the island despite choir boy Jack trying to take over. During the day, it is a sunny paradise. At night, a beast haunts the dreams of the younger children. Everyone should read this story as it is a classic.
