'Never the Bride' is the first book in Paul Magrs humor filled gothic horror series. Set in Whitby it features two seemingly traditional old ladies - Brenda and Effie - who find themselves pulled into supernatural danger at regualr intervals.Neither lady is quite as sweet as they seem, Brenda was created by Dr.Frankenstein to be a bride for his original monster though that relationship didn't work out. Effie on the other hand isn't supernatural but does come from a long line of witches. In this book the handsome Alucard hits on Effie and something strange is happening to the women of the town as the latest youth restoring treatment is actually making them look younger. It's up to Brenda and Effie to save the day.
Well worth reading it's a crime story with a supernatural edge.
