Lola Rose by Jacquline Wilson

Lola rose is a book about family problems. A mum is getting hit by her husband and then one day he lashes out on his eldest daughter because they had kept a secret about winning a lot of money off a scratch card. The mum decides that once he hits her he won’t stop so the mum and her one son and one of the daughters take the money run away during the night.

They all think of new names. They spend there money on crap things then realise that they have to go from the hotel and get a council flat. The mum finds a new boyfriend but then they split up. The mum finds a lump on her breast and has to go to hospital to get it removed. She leaves the daughter and son in the house. Lola (the daughter and her new name) calls her mums sister.

Their mum hates her sister but the sister comes to help. Them mum gets back and sees her sister they make friends again. The dad finds were they are and finds mens boxers under the bed he goes mental, the the auntie stops him and throws him out. The auntie takes them all back to the old family flat above there pub they all live there and live happily ever after.
