The story first takes off when Michael and his family start their dazzling adventure attempting to travel around the world in their brand new boat, the “Peggy Sue”. But when his parents are sleeping, Michael goes out to retrieve his dog Stella from the deck and the boat is violently veered, before Michael can scream for help he his in the cold dark sea destined to die.
He wakes up the following morning washed up on an island in the pacific to find a plate of fish, fruit and water beside him, he is not alone.
