This book is the ninth of a series of thirteen. The books start when Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire’s parents die in a fire and they are forced to live with their evil relative Count Olaf. When they go to live with other relatives he follows their every move and he and his henchman fool everyone with their terrible disguises but they don’t fool the children.This book is about when the Baudelaire’s disguise themselves and pretend to be freaks in the carnival and Madame Lulu the fortune teller tells Count Olaf where the children are and that is how he knows where they go. She finds out they are freaks and tells Count Olaf and then he kills Madame Lulu by throwing her in a lion pit and then tries to kill the Baudelaire’s by rolling there carriage off a cliff and hope they will die but do they survive………….?
