A History of Scotland by Neil Oliver

As the title suggests, 'A History of Scotland’ is about the history of Scotland. I enjoyed reading this because Neil Oliver brings the history to life and tries to separate the myths and legends from the truth. It is well written and has lots of facts about famous Scots like Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. The history ranges from the Picts to modern day Scotland and everything in between. Some of the chapters include ‘Project Britain’, ‘Money’, ‘Last of the Free’ and ‘Bishop makes King’.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in Scotland. It also includes how Britain was formed. It contains some important things in history that just haven’t been passed down like the document of Scotland’s Independence. Though it may be a bit biased on Scotland’s side sometimes, it is about Scotland’s history so it should be. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Scotland and would wish to know more about its history.

Wonder by R.J. Palacio

"My name is August. I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse."

“Wonder” is the story of the life of ten year old boy, August, who was born with a severe facial disfigurement. It tells the story from all the different views of different characters and shows his time from starting middle school and how he gets on with the other children.
I really like it because it tells the story from everyone’s points of views and shows that although some people may look different, they are just the same as everyone else and can live a normal life.
