Looking for Alaska by John Green

“The Fault in Our Stars” has been a really popular book. If you enjoyed it, why not check out John Green's website and try some of his other books? Many of our readers recommend “Looking for Alaska”:

"Looking for Alaska" by John Green is about a young teenage boy, Miles Halter, who doesn't have many friends and is sick of having a boring life living with his mum and dad, so he leaves for boarding school searching for the “great perhaps” which he heard from a famous poet. The boarding school is called Culver Creek in Alabama. At boarding school he meets Alaska Young. According to Miles Halter she is funny, gorgeous, smart and very fascinating. She changes him, chucks him into a new world and steals his heart. But tragedy strikes; will Miles ever be the same again?
Everyone should read Looking for Alaska as it is a brilliant, capturing book with its up and downs and disasters. This is a compelling book that I would highly recommend.

“Looking for Alaska” is all about a boy who goes to a boarding school with thoughts of doing well at first, but it doesn’t all turn out that way once he meets Alaska. The main character, Miles Halter, is 16 and wants away from his boring life with his mum and dad. So he goes to Culver Creek in Alabama. It is all about how much he knows people’s last words and their final actions but when one of his friends passes away suddenly he finds it hard to cope because he doesn’t know their final words or how they died. Miles doesn’t know how he can move on.
Everyone should read Looking for Alaska because it is a really happy, interesting book until nearly the end when it turns into a very sad and meaningful book. I really enjoyed it.
