Percy Jackson is a teenage boy with what he thinks is dyslexia, until one day he finds out the truth. Whilst on a school trip to the local museum Percy is attacked by what he thought was his teacher. She turns out to be a deadly Greek monster! To his surprise he is helped by his other teacher who turns out to be a centaur. At this point Percy is puzzled as to why all this is happening to him?
Later on Percy finds out his secret, his father is the Greek god Poseidon and he is a demi-god. He is then whisked of to a secret camp called Camp Half-Blood for his own safety against the evil god Hades. Everyone is after him as he is accused of stealing the mighty god Zeus is lightning bolt.
He and his friends are sent on a dangerous quest to prove his innocence before it is too late.....
This book is a great read and makes the time pass easily. If you like blood guts and glory then this is the book for you.
