Diary of a Wimpy Kid!!!
Diary of a
Wimpy Kid is a book about a boy named Greg Heffley who is just starting high

brother called Rodrick who plays “practical jokes” on him and a little brother
named Manny who embarrasses him around his friends. The book is basically about
issues that involve school, kids and family.
I recommend
this book to people because it is hilarious and a very entertaining book! Also
people in schools can relate to this because it is very similar to normal
childhood.

Noughts and
Crosses

This book’s main focus is racism. It is set in a world where noughts are the inferior
minority and crosses can do or say anything they like to them- a bit like
America in the 50’s and 60’s. It is about two friends, Callum and Sephy, who
had been friends since they were children. Sephy goes to an elite cross school
that Callum is dying to get into. Callum eventually became one of the first
noughts to go to a cross school! Sephy’s dad was a politician and was outraged that
he go into the same school as his daughter
even though he was smart enough to get in. Her dad was so bigoted and racist
that he told Sephy that she couldn’t be friends with (or have a relationship)
with Callum! However, Sephy violated
what her dad and society told her whole life - Crosses can’t love Noughts.
Everyone should read this book because it teaches the harsh
lesson of racism but brings and up to date twist on an often repeated message.
It is also very poignant and moving.

A kid nicknamed “Cecil”, from
Bradley, England, gets his internet access cut off by the anti-piracy
lobbyists, after he is accused of copyright infringement. His passion is
remixing old clips of films and uploading them to the internet for all to see.
His family begin to lose control of their lives when they can no longer access
the internet to study and do their daily work, so under all this pressure,
Cecil leaves and runs away to London, where he continues making his films on
the run, showing them in sewers, and eventually on the walls of the Houses of
Parliament. He and his friend ‘26’ attempt to get the corrupt entertainment
industry to scrap bills on copyright laws, restricting them from creating and
remixing the films they love.
It’s a great book, full of twists
and is a very real life scenario, showing the corruption in the Government and
Entertainment industry. Plus, it is licensed under the Creative Commons Share
